I've been considering the Merkur 38C for my daily shaving routine, but I'm curious about the comfort of the grip on the handle - specifically, the knurling pattern. I've heard it's a bit heavier than some other safety razors, weighing in at 4.25 ounces, which I think could be beneficial for those with larger hands like myself. However, I've also read that some users find the weight to be a bit slippery, especially when wet. Does anyone have experience with the Merkur 38C and can attest to whether the grip feels comfortable and secure? I'm interested in hearing about whether the knurling improves the grip, and if the weight of the razor delivers a more forgiving shave.
Additionally, I'd love to know if the length of the handle, which is around 4 inches, feels comfortable in the hand, and if the screw that holds the handle together is secure. I've heard great things about the Merkur 38C from enthusiasts, but I want to make sure it's the right fit for me.
Is the grip on the Merkur 38C handle comfortable?

I've had the pleasure of using the Merkur 38C, and I can attest that the grip on the handle is indeed comfortable and secure. The knurling pattern provides a non-slip surface, even when wet, and the weight of the razor feels substantial without being overwhelming. The extra-long grip handle allows for a comfortable hold, and the screw that holds the handle together is secure. I've found that the weight of the razor does deliver a more forgiving shave, and the closed comb design helps to prevent clogged hair and foam residues. Overall, I think you'll find the Merkur 38C to be a great fit for daily shaving.
