What materials are used to make the handle of the Merkur 37C?

Post by Henry12 »

I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me about the materials used to make the handle of the Merkur 37C heavy duty safety razor. I've been using this great instrument for a while now, and I'm impressed by its performance and durability. According to my research, the Merkur 37C is manufactured in Solingen, Germany, and I know that the company is known for its high-quality craftsmanship. The handle feels solid and comfortable in my hand, and I'd love to know more about the materials that go into making it. Is it stainless steel, high-carbon steel, or something else entirely? I've noticed that the handle has a nice knurled pattern, which provides a secure grip even when wet. Any information about the handle materials would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

The Merkur 37C's handle is actually made of chrome-plated brass, which explains its beautiful heft and balance. The knurled pattern provides a secure grip, even when wet!

Exactly, the chrome-plated brass handle is what gives the Merkur 37C its solid feel and comfortable grip.

I apologize for any confusion, but I think there's been a misunderstanding - I was about to ask the same question about the handle material and stumbled upon this thread!

As I grasp the Merkur 37C, I ponder the harmony of form and function, where chrome-plated brass converges with ergonomic design, crafting an instrument that transcends mere utility, becoming an extension of the self.
