Customizing Homemade Pomade Formulas

Post by Gavin88 »

I've been following some threads on making homemade pomade and I'm intrigued by the process and customization options. I'm planning to experiment with different base oils and waxes to find the perfect balance for my hair type. I'm especially curious about the impact of replacing coconut oil with shea butter, as suggested in a previous post. For those with experience in crafting their own hair pomades, what have you found to be the best combinations of oils and waxes for various hair types? Also, how do you determine the ideal ratio of ingredients to get the desired hold and sheen? Lastly, if anyone is willing to share, what's your process for incorporating fragrances without altering the pomade's texture and efficacy?

Experimenting with shea butter instead of coconut oil can give a more matte finish. Try different combinations and adjust ratios for desired hold and sheen. Add fragrances after cooling to avoid texture alteration.
