Advice on Precision Shaving for Goatee Maintenance

I've been growing a goatee for less than a year now, and I've noticed it's quite challenging to maintain the perfect shape, especially around the bottom corners of the chin and the mouth. I try to be precise but sometimes end up taking off too much. I've also found it difficult to achieve a clean shave right to the edge of my goatee, both with-the-grain (WTG) and against-the-grain (ATG), often leaving a few stray hairs that I then try to remove across-the-grain (XTG). Can anyone share some meticulous shaving techniques or tools that could help in shaping a goatee with precision? Any advice on avoiding common mistakes when rushing or being inattentive would also be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using a beard shaping tool? They help a lot!

I've had similar challenges! Taking your time and using a small, precise trimmer has worked well for me. Have you tried that?

Have you tried using a precision trimmer for the tricky areas? What about shaping with a template for cleaner lines?
