Optimizing Straight Razor Techniques for Stubborn Neck Hair

Post by Maxwell89 »

I'm reaching out for advice on refining my straight razor technique, specifically for dealing with stubborn neck hair that grows in different directions. My facial hair is quite resistant, and despite my efforts, I'm often left with an unsatisfactory shave along my neck area. I've experimented with various angles and grips, but I'm still struggling to achieve that baby-smooth feel without irritation. Does anyone have any specialized strokes or grip adjustments for shaving with a straight razor that can tackle this issue? Also, if there are shaving patterns or perhaps pre-shave skin preparations that could soften the hair and make shaving more effective, I’d love to hear those tips as well.

Have you tried a pre-shave oil to soften the hairs?

Try using a hot towel before shaving to soften the hair and consider a different razor angle for stubborn neck hair. Experiment with various grips and motions for better results.

Have you tried a 'Gillette move' for your stubborn neck hair? It sounds intriguing and might be worth a try! I've had success with unique techniques too.
