As someone who's just starting out with traditional wet shaving, I recently stumbled upon a product called shave butter and decided to give it a shot in hopes of improving my experience. After a rough start with DE shaving that involved a little too much pressure and the wrong blade choice, I ended up with a significant amount of razor burn and a few nicks. Now, I'm looking for advice on how to properly use shave butter, especially with regards to application techniques and whether it's better suited for thicker beard growth or daily shaves. Do you have any tips for newcomers like me on how to incorporate shave butter into a shaving routine? Also, does anyone have any experience using shave butter with more forgiving blades than Feather? I'm eager to learn and would appreciate any insights you might have.

Glide, don't press; let the butter's slickness guide the blade.

Hey there! When I started with shave butter, I found using a light hand and less pressure helped. It's great for thicker growth or daily shaves. Also, consider trying it with a milder blade for a smoother experience. Good luck!

I've had similar experiences. Using shave butter with light pressure helps reduce irritation. Give it a try on a few days' growth. Good luck!
