I've been pondering whether to maintain my current short, trimmed beard style or to let it grow out for a bushier look. I've received some advice to use a boar brush to help 'train' my beard, encouraging it to grow downwards. For those who have experience with different grooming techniques, how effective is brushing with a boar brush compared to regular trimming when trying to achieve a fuller beard? Additionally, are there particular stages of growth where one method is preferable over the other? I'm curious about others' experiences and what has worked for them in managing the shape and fullness of their beards.

I've found that a boar brush can really tame and direct growth, especially at those unruly stages.

I've tried the bushier look and ended up resembling a rogue hedge. The boar brush didn't tame much. Trimming was my saving grace. Each beard's a wild adventure!
