Optimal Beard Trimming Techniques and Tools

After recently deciding to grow out my beard, I've been really pleased with its fullness and the positive feedback I've received. I'm confident in maintaining the neckline with my DE razor, and I've incorporated beard oil into my daily routine. Now I'm faced with the challenge of determining the best approach to trimming my beard to keep it looking both full and well-groomed. I've been contemplating getting a beard trimmer and I'm curious about the length settings. For those with experience, what length do you recommend for maintaining a tidy yet voluminous beard? Also, I'm considering the pros and cons of beard trimmers versus scissors. While trimmers seem convenient for managing facial hair and creating clean lines, I'm not sure if they're the best for maintaining the length and volume I desire. On the other hand, scissors seem intimidating, but they might offer more control. How often do you find yourself trimming your beard throughout the different seasons? Does anyone have any tips on how to use scissors effectively without pulling on the hair or causing uneven growth? I would greatly appreciate insights into techniques, frequency, and the right tools for the job.

Start with a longer guard on the trimmer to maintain fullness, and use scissors for detailed shaping.

I recommend a 7 mm trim for a full yet neat look. Trimmers are great, but scissors offer more control. I trim monthly, adjusting for seasons.

I've found 7 or 10 mm to be ideal for a full yet tidy look. Trimmers give good control but scissors work too.
