Cartridge Razor Maintenance: How Often to Change Blades?

I've been switching between DE and cartridge razors, and one thing that caught my attention is the blade maintenance. I've noticed that some cartridges seem to perform better than others, even with proper prep. How often do you guys change your cartridge blades? Do you stick to a specific schedule or wait until you notice a decline in shave quality? I'm curious to know if there's a general consensus on when to swap out blades for optimal performance.
