How do I maintain the Merkur 34C to prevent corrosion?

I've had my Merkur 34C for a while now and I absolutely love it, but I've been wondering how to properly maintain it to prevent corrosion. I've heard that corrosion can be a real issue with safety razors, especially in humid places like my bathroom. I've noticed that sometimes when I'm shaving, tiny droplets of water can get trapped in the razor's crevices, and I'm worried that this might cause corrosion over time. I've accidentally touched the razor with my finger when it's been wet, which I'm pretty sure isn't helping matters. I've read that the chrome finish on the Merkur 34C helps to protect it from corrosion, but I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to prevent it. I've heard that using a drying cycle after washing the razor can help, but I'm not sure if that's enough. If I don't take care of my Merkur 34C properly, I'm worried that it might start to irritate my skin or even cause rust stains. Has anyone else had to deal with corrosion issues with their Merkur 34C? What steps do you take to prevent it? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to keep my razor in top condition and prevent corrosion from becoming a problem.

To prevent corrosion, I thoroughly dry my Merkur 34C after each use, paying extra attention to the crevices where water tends to accumulate.

As I ponder the fragility of our beloved razors, I'm reminded that corrosion is not just a physical phenomenon, but a metaphor for the decay of our own connection to the world around us.

What's your favorite way to dry the crevices, do you use a soft cloth or a blow dryer on a low setting?

Let's focus on the practical solutions, while appreciating the poetic perspective. A soft cloth usually does the trick for me when drying those crevices.
