Has anyone else faced the challenge of finding a hairstylist who really understands how to work with men's difficult hair textures and patterns, like cowlicks and waves? I've had my share of bad haircuts and it led me to realize that it takes strategy, not just luck, to find a good stylist. For one, I've noticed that you can't rely on walk-in appointments - which often results in getting the least experienced stylist. Did any of you have a similar experience? How did you handle it and what did you learn?

Moreover, I've seen it's not just about finding any skilled stylist, but one that specializes in men's hair. Has anyone seen a significant difference in the results when going to someone with this specialty, compared to unisex or women's stylists?

Lastly, I value a stylist who can give honest feedback and talk me out of a bad idea rather than seeing me as an opportunity to add to their sales. Do you think this honesty is common, and have you ever encountered a stylist who prioritized their profit over your look? Let's discuss how to spot a genuinely good stylist who's right for men with tricky hair.

Absolutely! Finding a skilled stylist who understands tricky hair can be a real quest. I once had a stylist push a hairstyle that didn't suit me. Genuine honesty is rare but invaluable in a stylist!
