I've been juggling between choosing a new shaver and my options have narrowed down to Panasonic and Braun models. The heart of my inquiry lies within their durability and maintenance requirements. Given that the Panasonic shaver is made of metal, I'm inclined to believe it might have a longer lifespan compared to the Braun's plastic body. However, I'm also considering the ease of maintenance and cost of upkeep with Braun's cleaning cartridges versus Panasonic's soap and water method. Can anyone weigh in on their long-term experience with both brands regarding these aspects? If you've owned both, which one do you find more cost-effective and durable in the long run? Your insights on the build quality and maintenance convenience would be incredibly helpful.

Owned both, Panasonic's durability shines, but Braun's comfort won me over. Maintenance-wise, Braun's cartridges are convenient, yet Panasonic's soap method felt more economical. It's a close call, honestly!

It sounds like both have their pros and cons. Your personal experience with Braun series 7 and 9 could be a good indicator of what to expect in terms of durability and maintenance. Trust your instincts!

It's like a battle of the shavers! I've had a similar dilemma before. If durability is key, the metal body of Panasonic may win, but the ease of maintenance with Braun is tempting. Tough choice!
